A fire gutted a luxury bus rented by the company filming an Ashley Judd movie in and around Little Rock. The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says no one was injured in the Monday fire but damage was estimated at $500,000.
Bert Kane, with the production company for the movie "Come EarlyMorning,'' told deputies the fire was started by a candle he left inside the bus. The bus had been parked at the Hollywood Country Club near Jacksonville where the company was shooting a nightclub scene.
Joe Glass with the Arkansas Department of Economic Development's film office said Judd was at the club for filming,which included hundreds of extras. Glass said he didn't know anything about the bus fire.The film is the directorial debut of North Little Rock native Joey Lauren Adams.
Shooting began in April and is scheduled to wrap Saturday.

Dario Franchitti rounded out the top two rows in 89th Indianapolis 500 qualifying this past Sunday after turning laps of 229-plus mph in the morning practice session. Franchitti went through the qualifying ordeal three times, which made for a draining day, and wound up advancing only one spot, from seventh to sixth. With his actress/wife Ashley Judd at his side, Franchitti and Andretti Green Racing put the No. 27 car in line with a four-lap speed average of 226.873 miles per hour. The race is scheduled for May 29.

Grand Canyon University made history on May 7 by conferring its first double doctorate honorary degree during their graduation ceremonies. The University bestowed the Doctor of Performing Arts and Doctor of Nursing degrees upon Naomi Judd, who was among several honorary doctorate recipients. Full Story >>

Laura Prepon (That 70's Show), Diane Ladd, and Tim Blake Nelson are joining Ashley Judd in "Come Early Morning," a new feature from writer-director-actor Joey Lauren Adams. Production began last week on the Arkansas-set film, which will mark the directorial debut for "Chasing Amy" star Adams.
