Ashley Judd, YouthAIDS Global Ambassador spoke at the Anglophone African Church consultation on HIV/AIDS Wednesday evening in Nairobi. While in Africa she will also visit Kenya, Madagascar, and South Africa. Ashley is in Africa to educate people on HIV /AIDS and how to protect themselves from the spread of the deadly disease.
In 2004, Ashley visited Asia where she visited clinics, schools, churches, temples, mosques and youth projects, and participated in the 2004 International AIDS Conference in Bangkok.

Oscar Buzz? Yes, that's right. Ashley is listed as one of the possible nominees for Best Actress. I am sure this is due to her nomination in that same category at the Golden Globes. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, February 27. What do you think?

Ok, so Annette won, so what? Ashley is still #1 around here. She definetely looked amazing! Up next for Ashley is an extended trip to Africa to continue her work as the Global Ambassador for YouthAIDS. Immediately after her trip, she will return to shoot a new ad campaign for American Beauty in early February.
And... for those of you that are Dario fans, he has signed up for another year with Andretti Green Racing and will remain in the IRL for another shot at the championship :)

Ashley will be heading to Africa next week on behalf of YouthAIDS. Upon her return she will shoot an ad campaign for the American Beauty Cosmetics line. I don't know if the products can really make you look as good as Ashley, but it is worth a try. By the way if you haven't check out that site yet, you are missing out on some beautiful photos.
Tuesday night at an event in Nashville with sister Ashley Judd, Wynonna responded to conservative Christians who have criticized her for agreeing to perform on a Caribbean cruise for gay and lesbian couples. The sisters were at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Ford Theater to greet winners of a magazine contest. The cover story in the February issue of Ladies' Home Journal details their work for YouthAIDS, a nonprofit organization that educates young people about HIV and AIDS. In explaining her reasons for singing on the cruise, Wynonna said she will never discriminate. "I've had the biggest gay following in the history of country music ... since 1980-something," she told the group. "I think it's just the more you talk about love, the more you talk about God, the bigger of a target you are. And so bring it on." The cruise departs on Jan. 29 (cmt.com).

I hope that you remembered to pick up a copy of Ladies Home Journal today (if not, get it tomorrow). It has a really great article and a beautiful picture of Ashley and Wynonna together. I would have some nice scans for you but I am currently setting up my new computer and of course the scanner is one of the things that I can not get working properly! I hope to have that issue resolved soon though. If anyone has a scan, feel free to share it :)

Since I cant remember if I posted this information before, Ashley and Wynonna Judd are both spokespersons for NutritionAID, a national charitable campaign to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity for children. I have added a few photos to the gallery today of Ashley's visit to Grassland Middle School last fall.

I have made a few minor updates to the site: a couple of larger avatars have been added to the forum gallery, there is also a new template available for those of you that use the forum. Wynonna and Ashley will be on the cover of the February issue of Ladies Home Journal. The two women talk about life (past, present, and future) and their commitment YouthAIDS. Wynonna recently donated a portion of her proceeds from her 20th anniversary tour to the organization, which educates 15- to 24-year-olds around the world about HIV and AIDS.
The February issue of Ladies Home Journal will be on sale beginning next Tuesday, January 11.

According to earlier reports, Ashley Judd is due to begin work this month on Every Word is True, small budget independent film. Every Word is True, which has a budget of just $10.8 million, is about writer Truman Capote's bizarre friendship with convicted murderers . The film is slated to star British actor Toby Jones as Capote, while Sandra Bullock plays Harper Lee. The picture is adapted from George Plimpton's oral biography and focuses on the relationship the writer developed with convicted murderers Kelly Smith and Dick Hickock while researching his book In Cold Blood.
