“Come Early Morning” will star Ashley Judd and will be shot entirely in central Arkansas. Adams said some locations are still being scouted, but decisions have already been made to shoot at an undisclosed apartment complex in North Little Rock and at the Perry Hotel in Lonoke.
A crew of about 100, which is a mix between locals and those imported from Hollywood, expects to begin shooting April 25 and wrap by May 30.
Adams said she hopes to have the film out of post production and finished in time to debut at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, in January.
“We’re going to shoot for that, but that’s every independent filmmaker’s hopes,” she said.
The movie is about a 35-year-old woman named Lucy, played by Judd, who is coming of age in the South. Adams said the film’s characters are based on those in her family and circle of friends while growing up in North Little Rock, though the script is not a true story or a genuine reflection of actual events.
“Come Early Morning” will be Adams’ directorial debut after having starred in such films as “Chasing Amy,” “Big Daddy,” "Mallrats” and “Dazed and Confused.”

The brothers at a fraternity at the University of Kentucky got a surprise visit from Ashley Judd yesterday.
The actress was at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house as part of an MTV series, called 'Stand In'. The show -- on the network's university channel -- centers around a celebrity who surprises students.
The fraternity ran a basketball tournament this week to benefit an anti-AIDS group that Judd works with.
She discussed the threat of AIDS and other global health problems.
She also talked about getting tested for sexually-transmitted diseases.

Judd lacks a signature role
A recent article in The Wall Street Journal about movie stars slumming on Broadway noted Ashley Judd's one-year stint in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." The Journal identified Judd with this parenthetical credit: "Double Jeopardy."
Is that her signature role? Is that the role she is remembered for, as the wife wrongly convicted of murdering the husband who isn't really dead?
Ashley Judd has had a nice career in films, but I think The Wall Street Journal may be on to something. She doesn't have a signature role, like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" or Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky."

WHERE'S ASHLEY?: Forget Waldo. Most everyone was on the lookout Saturday for actor Ashley Judd, wife of driver Dario Franchitti. With her beloved Kentucky basketball team out of the NCAA Tournament, it was expected Judd would join her husband.
Though she tried to keep a low profile, donning big sunglasses and a woven hat with a floppy brim that hid most of her face, she was easy to spot when Franchitti posted the fastest speed during single-lap qualifying. The two walked the length of pit road arm in arm
