"De-Lovely" now available on DVD and VHS today...

Kevin Kline was perfectly cast as Porter, and Ashley Judd, as his supporting and beloved wife Linda Lee, reminded us that when she's not being chased by maniacs, she can still act. The songs are also stars, newly interpreted by the likes of Elvis Costello, Alanis Morrisette, Diana Krall and Sheryl Crow, and sounding even better remixed into 5.1 Surround. Eight deleted scenes, commentary by director Irwin Winkler, Kline, and writer Jay Cocks, and an alternate ending round out the package.

Ashley Judd popped into David Yurman's sliver of a boutique on Madison Avenue last month, but the red-carpet rara avis wasn't shopping for the latest designer bauble. As YouthAIDS spokeswoman, Judd was on hand to raise awareness about the spread of HIV among young people. "These kids aren't valued," she said. "They don't have access to the simplest, most basic of medicines." She was promoting a Yurman-designed pin and pendant ($100 each at www.davidyurman.com), which benefit the organization's funding initiatives.

Kevin Kline had a "De-Lovely" time being honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Dec. 3. His marker sits in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The honor coincides with the DVD release of Kline's latest film, "De-Lovely," the biopic of composer Cole Porter (release date: 12/21/04). The film also stars Ashley Judd as Porter's wife Linda.
