Attire is listed as Rockstar Chic.... maybe I am just not hip but, what exactly is that? LOL! Anyway, the event will take place Thursday, September 23 and yes, you can even get in on the fun. Ticket prices begin @ $1,000... have a good time!

Hey! In case you missed it. Dario won his second race of the season this past Sunday at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Ashley was not in attendance, she was at a yoga retreat. You all remember the last yoga incident? You would think she'd learn huh? Just kidding, I am sure everything went just fine this time :)

This pit stop offers ample fuel for soul
• 3:34: Mrs. Dario Franchitti -- perhaps better known to her fellow Kentuckians as Ashley Judd -- shakes hands and chats with auto racing legend Roger Penske.

Turns out, even billionaire car moguls melt in the presence of a movie star.

• 3:41: Kentucky Speedway chairman Jerry Carroll passes through the pits and by the race Grand Marshal.

"A Kentucky girl," Carroll says, nodding toward the grand marshal, Mrs. Franchitti.

(It is a big day for University of Kentucky basketball icons at the Speedway.

In addition to super fan Mrs. Franchitti -- who is clad in a Kentucky T-shirt -- UK head coach Tubby Smith is in the house.

Smith makes quite the fashion statement himself in what appeared to be a Panama hat. And the venerable Mr. Wildcat, UK equipment manager Bill Keightley, is also in the crowd of 61,885).

• 3:42: From pit lane, the race grand marshal addresses the crowd as "my fellow Kentuckians."

She thanks Kentuckians for the "continued love and respect you give my family."

Mrs. Franchitti notes that her family now includes the driver of the No. 27 car.

Then she gives the command:

"Gentlemen, start your engines."

Franchitti and actress wife Judd love coming back to Kentucky

Dario Franchitti and his famous wife, actress Ashley Judd, are both stars in their chosen professions, and they work hard to keep their lives separate.

But every once in a while, like when Judd returns to the state she called home for several years and the state that houses her favorite basketball team, an exception is made.

With a little prodding from the Kentucky Speedway higher-ups, Judd agreed that she would be the grand marshal of today's Belterra Casino Indy 300 since it's in Kentucky.

Franchitti has had his share of ribbing since it was announced. The driver of the No. 27 Honda takes it in stride.

"I've heard it from some of the other guys," he said Friday. "I'm just glad (teammates Tony) Kanaan and (Dan) Wheldon will be strapped in their cars when she's doing her thing or I know they would play some practical joke on her."

Although he's never raced at this speedway, he said it's fun to be back in the state his wife has taught him to love.

"We love coming to Kentucky," he said. "We go to basketball games at Rupp, spend time at the horse farms; go over to Ashland, where she's from. It's a nice place. I've got a lot of friends here. It's special that she has this association."

REMINDER Ashley will be the grand marshal of the Indy Racing League Belterra Casino Indy 300 IndyCar Series race at Kentucky Speedway on tomorrow, August 15. The race begins at 3:30 pm EDT. Ashley will be giving the command 'start you engines', So dont miss the start of the race, and be sure to listen out for that ;)

Ashley Judd will be the grand marshal of the Indy Racing League Belterra Casino Indy 300 IndyCar Series race at Kentucky Speedway on Sunday, August 15.

"Our ownership group, administration and fans are proud of our Kentucky heritage and will be honored and excited to welcome one of our own as the honorary grand marshal of this year's Indy Racing League event,” Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. “Being an eighth generation Kentuckian, a University of Kentucky graduate and one of America’s top actresses, Ms. Judd is certainly the perfect choice to join us for a showcase event at Kentucky’s largest motorsports facility. That she is willing to participate in our event is a testament of her allegiance to our great state.”

The Belterra Casino Indy 300 will take the green flag on Sunday, August 15 at 3:30 p.m.

The new ecard system is finally ready. I have installed a new ecard program today to replace the old one. Much better! It is more flexible and will give you the ability to customize your cards with more options. I added a few themed (happy birthday, missing you...) cards to get it started, and of course there are blank cards also. I will be adding some more themes and new cards over time...
